For the third consecutive season, we are proudly excited to unveil the much-anticipated Malta National Sim Racing Championship 2024 in collaboration with the Malta Motorsport Federation (MMF) and supported by Enemed, Gaming Malta and England Insurance.
The championship, which has captured the imagination of enthusiasts since its inception, promises thrilling competition across two categories this year. One championship will see participants take on the Formula 4 car category on the prestigious iRacing platform, while the other will showcase the action of GT3 cars on Assetto Corsa Competizione.
The journey to glory begins with a qualifying phase scheduled from April 23rd to May 7th. Following this, an elimination phase will determine the top 10 drivers in each category, who will earn a spot to compete in the prestigious 5-round championship.
We’re pleased to offer participants flexibility in joining qualifiers, whether online or at the World Pro Racing facility, ensuring accessibility for all enthusiasts, regardless of having a simulator at home or not.
In collaboration with iRacing and the FIA, each entrant will receive a complimentary iRacing key upon registration and payment of the fee. This key, valid for one year from activation, grants access to all necessary features without the need for additional purchases or modifications. Similarly, participants in the GT3 category will need to own Assetto Corsa Competizione.
Eligibility criteria require drivers to be at least 16 years old and either Maltese residents or possess a Maltese passport, with proof of age and residency required from each participant.
The championship will be broadcasted live on WPR and MMF channels, with coverage also available on TVMSPORT+. MMF licensed stewards will oversee the events, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and fairness are upheld.
The championship rounds are scheduled as follows:
Round 1: June 1st
Round 2: June 15th
Round 3: June 29th
Round 4: July 6th
Round 5: July 20th
In addition to the National Championship, along with MMF we are committed to hosting more frequent races on iRacing and other platforms, both online and at the WPR facility. This initiative aims to nurture and expand the local sim racing community, building upon WPR’s six-year legacy of promoting the sport in Malta.
We extend a warm invitation to new participants, highlighting the competitive nature of the championship and the opportunities it offers for growth and recognition within the global sim racing community. Winners of the championship will earn the esteemed privilege of representing Malta at the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia this October, an event of unparalleled prestige and significance. With only two representatives selected, the championship not only offers an unforgettable experience but also the chance to compete against the finest sim racers on the international stage, making it a pursuit worthy of lifelong reverence.
